Who and What is Tailored Travel
Tailored Travel is a family-run business, operating since 1994 from Rerenga Farm near the city of Nelson on the northern tip of the South Island. To offer you the most personal service available, there are only two of us – myself, Robert Panzer, along with my wife, Joan. With our three decades of combined experience in business, hospitality and the travel industry, we assure you that your travel plans will be managed with integrity and professionalism.
Share your dreams of the ideal vacation with us and we will translate them, into your personalized travel itinerary with all the resources, knowledge and contacts only experienced Kiwis have.
Tailored Travel offers you a more intimate service than a typical tour operator. We live and breathe our business here in New Zealand year-round. With our experience in the country’s tourist industry, we have the personal contacts and the latest information to streamline your trip and fulfill your most treasured vacation dreams.
We especially delight in sharing with you places embodying the true, un-commercialized essence of New Zealand, and in putting you in direct touch with our friendly fellow citizens. Along with our philosophy of low-impact tourism, preservation of the New Zealand natural environment is one of our foremost concerns.
Originally from the Netherlands, Robert was professionally involved in business, journalism and tourism before immigrating to New Zealand in 1985. Joan was born in Illinois and was working as a business consultant in Boston when she participated in a New Zealand commercial backpacking trip. She fell in love with the country and with me! Together we settled in the Nelson region raising Michelle and Erik, and nurturing our tour company since 1994.
Robert is also a Tourism Business consultant, working with Nelson and South Island small
